S&Co.’s Rose Footprint features family-friendly entertainment

LENOX – Down the hill from the Tina Packer Playhouse, Shakespeare and Company is putting on a show for all ages.

At the family-friendly Rose Footprint Theater (housed under an enormous tent), an exuberant production of Moliere’s Les Faux Pas is being staged to delight attendees.

“It’s a comedic afternoon that is sure to delight audiences of all ages,” said Les Faux Pas director Jenna Ware.

From the vibrant costumes to the witty performances, the production is a great way to spend an hour of a hot summer day in the shade.

Les Faux Pas runs through Aug. 24 in the Rose Footprint and is part of S&Co.’s 12th Annual Bankside Festival, which runs through Sept. 1.

“At first, the search for a play for Bankside this year was a seemingly endless exercise in failure,” said Ms. Ware. “I was tickled to see the story of the play so easily mimicked the process of attempting to choose one, as the trickster clown spends the entire play reaching for success, only to be foiled over and over again.

“Our much-abridged adaptation of Les Faux Pas is not so much an exercise in failure but a celebration of our willingness to try, try, try again.”
