Last Summer on Earth Tour stops at Tanglewood

LENOX – This Tuesday, three alternative rock groups will be hitting the stage in the Serge Koussevitzky Shed at Tanglewood.

Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds Five and Guster are teaming up for 2013’s “Last Summer on Earth Tour,” which comes to The Berkshires July 23.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of tour headliner Barenaked Ladies, with songs that include “One Week,” “Pinch Me” and “If I Had $1,000,000.”

The Canadian band just released its latest album, Grinning Streak, in June, and it features the single “Boomerang.”

Ben Folds Five is reuniting after more than years of the band members pursuing other interests (including frontman Ben Folds’ stint as a judge on NBC’s reality music competition show The Sing-Off).

The band, originally formed in North Carolina, released its latest album, The Sound of the Life of the Mind, last fall, its first album in 13 years. It features the single “Do It Anyway.”

Boston-based Guster is touring to promote its Live Acoustic album, released in January. It features recordings made during the band’s 2012 tour.

Included in Live Acoustic’s tracklisting are some of the band’s biggest hits, including “Satellite” and “This Could All Be Yours.”
