Fall into fashion passion, part two

“Clean shirt, new shoes/And don’t know where I am goin’ to./Silk suit, black tie/And I don’t need a reason why./They come runnin’ just as fast as they can/’Cause every girl’s crazy ‘bout a sharp dressed man.”

Don’t we know it, right, girls? My daughter asked if ZZ Top were wizards when we watched it, must be the hats and beards.

Shall we delve into the hottest new trends for men? Because I know some of you men are reading, and the girls have the perfect ensembles to choose for date night, or any night or day for that matter. So here we go with Style 101 from GQ magazine, whose motto is “Look Sharp, Live Smart.”

Don’t be swayed to try denim on denim: use traditional lines and rugged button-ups to create a relaxed effortless vibe.

Thinking suits? New designer Paul Surridge said best bets were the navy shiny mohair suit, and the navy wool zip front coat over brown suit

Go for the trench, said Keane Etro, heading from Italy to the deserts of the American southwest. Just like the ladies, the look is a gutsy tweed suit and a tan trench with lots of swagger! Also check out plaid suits and shiny wool double-breasted ones, perfect for those corporate connections.

Ooh Gucci has chosen a black Sherpa-lined slate blue wool jacket – very nice!

Almost time to dig out those big thick sweaters too.

Designer John Galliano features a gangster’s look, so for any of you who are missing The Sopranos, now’s your chance! With slicked backed hair, a grey wool jacket and black pants, you’ll look the part.

Ladies, get luxurious by dressing your man in a style by Lanvin. Try the first blue double-breasted coat, or I like the camel coat – quite suave!

The collection by Junya is for the working man – all plaid, with colored suspenders? Okay, I draw the line there – you’re on your own. However, the light green plaid jacket with suede pockets is cool for the eccentric.

Like the Dark Knight, you too can have futuristic elegance with a black double-breasted coat with black leather piping, or try a black leather bomber jacket, now that is hot!

Go more casual with French tailoring by Kris Van Assche and slip him into a black nylon puffy baseball jacket.

Hermes’ collection takes on an edge with a brown velvet suit for work, and for play off go the pants and on a pair of jeans!

Okay, so there you have it, the latest fashions and tons of versatile style on those runways, boys! Button-down shirts, swanky tweed and wool hats, shiny shoes in white, brown, black and get this – metallic!

Now let’s turn it over to AskMen.com for a trifle on what the guys want to see us gals modeling this golden-leafed season. Now that I’ve done my research, it seems they don’t care much about seasons! But in a thread, I’ll spill what they do care about:

One guy said, “Excluding underwear, nighties and other intentionally sensual garments, I love skirts, heels and the ability for a girl to casually wear jeans, but still show off her assets.”

Another said, “I like tight jeans, tight T-shirts, yoga pants, tight-fitting business suits and pretty much anything that’s tight.” Okay, thanks for the tip!

The next one said, “As I’ve said before I only care about two things: How well does it fit? And how revealing is it?”

“Tank tops are nice.”

“Feminine dresses and heels.”

“Black stretchy pants.”

“If you have good/great legs, wear something short.”

So now after hearing from some of these bottom-dwellers, I did find a panel of six men to tell: “The classic black dress, pencil skirts and tight jeans accentuate the female form; heels, no capri pants, knee-high boots and flats, tops that reveal the collarbone and shoulders. Tunics and smocks, no – they make us look pregnant!”

“Crocs are ugly and make your feet smell.”

Now that I’ve armed you with all this information what are you going to do with it?

I think it’s great to follow trends and to look glam, but when it comes down to it, do what feels good on you! So many women and men out there can create their own style and who knows? You might be a trendsetter too.

All it takes is universal love and confidence and you will glow from the inside out!

Ciao Bella
