TOWN UPDATES:

SHEFFIELD – Consistent with Governor Patrick’s advice, the board of selectmen has declared a State of Emergency.  The town hall will be closed tomorrow (Monday, Oct. 29). For storm related emergencies, please contact the Sheffield Police Department at (413) 229-8522.

LENOX – The Lenox Board of Selectmen’s meeting scheduled for Monday has been postponed due to the weather. The meeting will be rescheduled for Wed., Nov. 7 at 7 p.m.

In the event of an extreme emergency, the Town of Lenox has the option of opening the Lenox Memorial Middle and High School as an emergency shelter.

The decision to open a public shelter is made by our emergency management director, Fire Chief Dan Clifford, in consultation with local, regional and state officials.

If a decision is made to open the high school, notice will be posted on the town’s website, as well as notification through the sheriff’s Reverse 911 system and the school’s all-call system. Both systems provide phone calls to residents.
