Brown and Warren react to jobs report

Both Senate candidates have very different views of the most recent jobs report.

Candidate Elizabeth Warren explained that the number show that the economy is continuing to improve.

“Today’s jobs numbers show we’ve got to stay focused on getting workers back on the job and we can’t go back to the failed policies that brought our economy down in the first place,” said Warren.

“Scott Brown wants Republicans in control of the Senate and Mitt Romney in the White House to pursue the same ‘I’ve got mine, the rest of you are on your own’ strategy that hurt so many middle class families,” added Warren. “I want to work with President Obama and a Democratic Senate to invest in those families, level the playing field and make sure everyone has the chance to succeed.”

Sen. Scott Brown meanwhile expressed his concern over the numbers.

“Today’s jobs report shows once again that our economy is not growing fast enough,” said Brwon.

“With the unemployment rate on the rise, Elizabeth Warren’s plan to raise taxes will make a bleak jobs picture even worse, destroying more than 17,000 jobs here in the Commonwealth and 700,000 across the country,” added Brown. “We need leaders who are willing to put people over party and work together on policies that will get the free enterprise system – America’s engine of economic growth – cranking again.  My plan is to continue to be an independent fighter for jobs focused on putting people back to work and getting this economy moving again.”
