PITTSFIELD – Creative-minded high schoolers are being sought out to participate in a 48-hour filmmaking project at Berkshire Museum.
As part of “Make a Movie in a Weekend,” a film production course sponsored by the Berkshire Film and Media Commission (BFMC), students ages 14-18 will use state-of-the-art equipment to write, shoot, edit and score a five-minute film this weekend (Nov. 30-Dec. 2).
“Our partnership with the Berkshire Film and Media Commission helps us carry out our mission to spark creativity and innovative thinking by engaging with young adults interested in the creative economy,” said Berkshire Museum Executive Director Van Shields.
The course, taught by local industry professionals, begins Friday at 6 p.m. and continues all day Saturday (10 a.m.-9 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m.-5 p.m.).
The cost is $100 or $75 for museum members; students can register by calling the museum at (413) 443-7171, ext. 10. Dinner will be provided on Saturday night, but students will need to bring snacks and lunches.
At 5 p.m. on Sunday, the Little Cinema will host a public screening of the students’ films.
