Another year of Christmas magic in The Berkshires

‘Tis the season to be jolly.

In this case, Lenox is decorated with white lights on the new streetlight lamp poles, a community tree has been donated by Paul C. Merlino along with his wife, Sandy J., and a host of decorations have been placed around town.

Richard W. Wise, founder of the Lenox Caroling Festival, has put together 200 carolers this Saturday to sing around town for prizes.

Meanwhile, Stockbridge held its annual Christmas party Sunday with antique cars, singers of various groups and a host of locals and visitors. The Red Lion Inn was jammed, along with County Curtains’ retail store.

In Pittsfield, the tree in Park Square is decorated and ready to send off a warm glow of the holiday season.

No matter where people live in Berkshire County, their community is special to them and decorations are noted on businesses and at the many residences.

This holiday we should be thankful our governments on every level are proceeding to provide for their people, projections for increased business are positive for the new year and the stock market will hail to the victors in the coming year.

A footnote: When I met people at the Red Lion Inn Sunday, many of them were visitors and each exclaimed how lucky we are to live in a place called Berkshire Hills. We do, in fact, have something to be proud of, and therefore, in the new year, we should rejoice in the fact others have found our homes and businesses a place to travel to for a visit or vacation.
