Meeting Notes: Sheffield Board of Selectmen

SHEFFIELD – After public hearings and years of planning, the select board was presented with new plans for the Ashley Falls Bridge on Route 7A.

The plans are on file at the town office and can be viewed during business hours by the public.

The town also announced it is looking for a photo for the front of the town report this spring. Anyone who has a photo they think would look good should contact the town administrator.

New officers

Robert Wood, who has served on both the Lee and Tyringham police department, and Brendan Pomadollo, who has served on the Monterey Police Department, were both appointed as reserve police officers for the town.

After the appointments, Police Chief Eric R. Munson presented the men with their badges.

The police department was also recognized by the board for its recent sting on metal thieves.

The department spent a week doing surveillance at George Mielke Used Auto Parts at 100 Lime Kiln Rd., waiting for evidence after thefts of copper, brass and other materials began at the auto salvage business the week prior.

Sheffield Officer David Monyahan was the lead investigator on the case.

The force arrested Seymour Shackleton, 54, of Catskill, N.Y., and David Feller, 44, of Hudson, N.Y.
