Premerlani given new title at Pittsfield Cooperative Bank

PITTSFIELD – Frances A. “Fran” Premerlani has been tapped to serve as the assistant vice president/mortgage originator for Pittsfield Cooperative Bank.

“Fran fell in love with The Berkshires as a child and then spent a career introducing new families to the region. Her commitment to the area extends well beyond her work, as Fran’s service on local boards and volunteer projects are almost too numerous to list,” said J. Jay Anderson, president and CEO of the 124-year-old financial institution.

Ms. Premerlani has been in the mortgage business for more than 30 years in the area.

“Buyers are certainly attracted to beauty of the area’s landscape and the value of the available housing. But, I think they are pleasantly surprised about the fine character of both their neighbors and the community as a whole,” said Premerlani.

“We are fortunate to live in such an environment – which is why I am honored to serve on committees whose aim it is to enhance our quality of life,” she added.

And serve she has.

Ms. Premerlani is the chairperson of Southern Berkshire Elderly Transportation. She is a board member and treasurer of both the Watson Christmas Fund and the Fairview Hospital Auxiliary.

She is currently working on a committee that’s planning numerous activities surrounding Fairview Hospital’s 100th anniversary. This follows her contributions in coordinating the recent (2011) year-long celebration of Great Barrington’s 250th birthday.

“Fran’s local roots and unmatched experience make her a rather unique hire and an invaluable addition to our lending team,” said Michael Barbieri, vice president/residential and consumer lending at The Co-op and Ms. Premerlani’s new supervisor.

“I am very conscious of the change that the banking industry has undergone in the past few years. This evolution is why I’ve moved to The Co-op.
