A hymn in remembrance of Lance Corporal Roger W. Muchnick, Jr

In memory of Marine Lance Corporal Roger W. Muchnick, Jr. of Westport, Conn., and the grandson of Robert and Mary Ann Coakley of Lenox, who lost his life during a training exercise on March 18, we offer our community’s condolences and a pictorial and commentary review of the military service on March 29 at St. Ann’s Church.

Note: “Mansions of the Lord” is a hymn written by Randall Wallace and set to the music of Nick Glennie-Smith. It is printed here as part of the remembrance.

The Mansions of the Lord

To fallen soldiers let us sing,
Where no rockets fly nor bullets wing,
Our broken brothers let us bring
To the Mansions of the Lord
No more bleeding, No more fight,
No prayers pleading through the night,
Just Divine embrace, Eternal light,
In the Mansions of the Lord
Where no mothers cry and no children weep,
We will stand and guard ‘tho the angels sleep,
All through the ages safely keep
The Mansions of the Lord
