Carlino wins sixth term on Lee Select Board

LEE – Board of Selectmen Chairwoman Patricia Carlino has been elected to her sixth, and what she says will be her final, term.

“Thank you to the people who elected me and put me back in office,” said Chairwoman Carlino. “I appreciate their support.”

Chairwoman Carlino ran on the Democratic Party ticket against Planning Board Member Tom Wickham, who ran as a Republican, and Town Meeting Representative Anne Tourville Langlais, who ran as an independent.

The April 30 election was competitive, but Chairwoman Carlino emerged triumphant.

Out of 981 ballots cast, Chairwoman Carlino received 413 votes. Ms. Langlais received 352 votes, while Mr. Wickham received 292.

“I enjoyed the race immensely,” said Mr. Wickham, in comments to The Beacon. “I wish Patty nothing but the best of luck.”

“I’m very happy, I’m very appreciative of the people who put me back,” said Selectwoman Carlino, when asked her reaction to winning another term. “It was a three-way race, and we all got quite a few votes.”

“This will be my last term,” said Chairwoman Carlino, adding she wanted to finish up the projects she’d had a hand in starting.

In terms of what she’d tackle first, she said she’d be focusing on the Rest of the River Clean Up of the Housatonic River and on the Eagle Mill.

While she said she wouldn’t be seeking another term on the select board, she indicated she wouldn’t be done with politics.

“I’m not saying that,” said Chairwoman Carlino, when asked if she’d be finished with politics entirely after this term.
