Berkshire Museum hosting networking event

PITTSFIELD – Looking to take part in a little chit chat?

Berkshire Museum hosts its sixth installment of the popular PechaKucha Night tonight (May 16) at 7 p.m., with presentations scheduled to start around 7:20 p.m.

PechaKucha, literally translated as “chit chat” or “blah blah” in Japanese, was created by Klein Dytham Architecture in Tokyo in 2003 as an opportunity for young designers to meet, network and show their work in public.

It has since gone viral and turned into a massive celebration, with events happening in more than 450 cities, inspiring creativity worldwide.

The sixth local round of this worldwide networking event features a series of presentations, each consisting of 20 slides shown for 20 seconds, totaling six minutes and 40 seconds of talking time. PechaKucha Night’s goal is to bring creative minds together for a night of inspiration, networking and fun.

Once again, Berkshire Museum has challenged the public for a varied assortment of presentation topics – and they certainly delivered.

Past PechaKucha topics have ranged from fashion, architecture and local events and organizations to travel, romance and humor.

This batch of PechaKuchas will feature talks on fitness and wellness, the Lift Every Voice festival and comedy improvisation, just to name a few.

Berkshire Museum holds four PechaKucha Nights each year; the next two events will be held Aug. 13 and Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.
