Monument Mountain graduates encouraged to “keep learning”

LENOX – Many of the speakers at the Monument Mountain Regional High School commencement told the graduates to continue their education as they go out into the world.

“Don’t stop here: meet new people, do great things and don’t stop learning,” MMRHS Valedictorian Nicole Keefner said.

“This education will be the foundation for the rest of your lives,” Berkshire Hills Regional School Committee Chairman Stephen Bannon said in a later speech. “Keep learning.”

BHRSD Superintendent Peter Dillon also encouraged the class of 2013 to stay in (or come back to) The Berkshires.

“Collectively, you all have so much to offer,” he said. “It would be great if many of you choose to do it here.”

Salutatorian Mikayla Morley and Principal Marianne Young also spoke at the commencement, highlighting the class of 2013’s experiences at Monument Mountain.

“Thank you, Monument Mountain,” Miss Morley simply stated at the end of her address.

Principal Young used the words of the graduating class in her speech, drawing from responses to senior exit interviews.

The commencement also featured performances from the MMRHS Band and Spartones, a choral group.
