LENOX – Looking to combine a love many forms of art and the need for fundraiser for the library, an idea struck local art enthusiasts.
The Lenox Library will host a multimedia art show, “Brushes for Books,” from June 15-29 in the Welles Gallery, at 18 Main St.
This fundraising event will showcase 10 participating artists exhibiting a range of paintings, photography and ceramics. Participating artists were vetted by local art patrons including Suky and Tom Werman, Stephen Peters and others.
A percentage of proceeds from all art sales will go to benefit the library’s programs and services.
This annual event continues a tradition of the Welles Gallery at the Lenox Library showcasing the work of a wide variety of artists and media.
“This annual event gives the Lenox Library the opportunity to mount a quality art show that continues to enhance The Berkshires and downtown Lenox as important destinations for art lovers, while also contributing to our varied fundraising efforts,” said Lenox Library Executive Director Sharon Hawkes.
Brushes for Books will kick off with an opening reception on Saturday, June 15 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., with tickets priced at $25. Guests will be able to purchase the displayed art in the show and additional art that will be available only during the opening reception.
The ticket price includes wine and light refreshments.
The show will continue daily during the library’s regular summer hours, Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
