Have a great photo you took of the outdoors this year?
More than a thousand people have already entered Mass Audubon’s 2012 statewide photo contest, “Picture This: Your Great Outdoors.”
But time is running out—the deadline to enter photographs is Sept. 30. Hurry and send in your best digital images that highlight the beauty and diversity of Massachusetts wildlife, habitats, and people in nature.
Entrants of all ages and abilities are invited to submit their photos.
Participants may submit up to five images taken in Massachusetts or at Mass Audubon’s Wildwood Camp in Rindge, N.H. Judging will be based on experience (Professional, Amateur, Under 18) and in six subject categories: People in Nature, Birds, Other Animals, Plants, Landscapes and Artistically Modified.
Up to 18 finalists will win a $100 gift card to redeem at a Mass Audubon shop or wildlife sanctuary.
One Grand Prize winner, selected from the finalists, will be awarded a $250 gift card, in addition to being featured in Connections, Mass Audubon’s member newsletter. All finalists will be featured on Mass Audubon’s website (massaudubon.org).
After the contest, the winning images will be enlarged, framed and displayed in a “traveling gallery” that will visit Mass Audubon wildlife sanctuaries statewide in 2013.
